Here is a link to a great tutorial by Artzcool's on how to DIY your own Zebra Cake.

This technique could easily be used for any type of pattern. Think - hot pink cow print or retro flower...

Wish List: Thumb Page Holder

School has just started up and, as a new Grad Student, I am discovering just how much of my time will be spent with my nose in a book (Hint: A Lot!).

Through the wonders of Pinterest, I came across this nifty wish list addition -

Available on Amazon .

This of the possibilities... being able to stand on the bus and read! It's a wonderful world that we live in ;)

Makeup Trick - Mix Your Own 2-in-1 Foundation

In the hot summer months, I often find that wearing makeup can be a pain. Who wants to constantly worry about doing touch-ups when everything melts off of you face anyways?

However, in Canada, we're already starting to transition into cooler temperatures and it's easy to get caught in limbo between wanting to show off your summer bronzing but needing a bit of colour correction as well.

There's a simple trick to this. When applying your regular foundation, mix it with a small amount of moisturizer. The moisturizer will do its usual job and it will also lighten the opacity of the foundation. These means that it will allow the foundation colour to blend closer to your current skin tone, despite the addition of your summer tan.

Things to Consider
1. Make sure that you have a good quality foundation. Ones with higher pigment ratios will produce better results despite being diluted with moisturizer.

2. Seek out makeup/moisturizer with built in SPF, any additional sun protection is always beneficial for your skins long term appearance. Switch your 2-in-1 trick to a 3-in-1!

3. I currently use Covergirl's Outlast and The Body Shop's Seaweed Mattfying Day Cream. However, finding the best combination is based on your skin type. Play around and find out what works best for you.

Yay Fall!

Elastic Ball

Who doesn't love a good homemade elastic ball? Here is the result of a weeks worth of brochure deliveries..

** For anyone who did not start hundreds of these during your childhood - Elastic balls like this are made by simply wrapping elastic bands around a small ball, marble, or knot of other elastics. Keep wrapping until you reach a desired size, run out of elastics, or get board.
